Anita Hayman
Anita Hayman is the Principal of the Sussex Beauty Training School and has been a qualified Beauty Therapist for 35 years and during that time owned and built a Salon of Excellence in Profiles Health and Beauty in Hassocks, West Sussex. The Salon won accolades such as Professional Beauty’s – Best British Beauty Salon and Health and Beauty Salon’s – Best RegionalSalon – London/South East. During this time she also trained at Loughborough University and gained RSA qualifications in Exercise to Music and Fitness Training and has taught Aerobics, Zumba and Fitness Training in the local area for the past 30 years.
Anita sold Profiles in 2002 to focus on her family and set up Tamarind Treatment Rooms – a small exclusive Salon. In 2004 she was one of three finalists in Professional Beauty’s – British BeautyTherapist of the Year Award.
Anita, (together with Samantha) also sits on the National Advisory Committee for City and Guilds, helping raise standards within industry. The Sussex Beauty Training School evolved 13 years ago – fired by Anita’s passion to deliver professional training to ensure high quality therapy skills within the Beauty industry.
The Training School has won various accolades over the past few years – gaining Etc Hair and Beauty Awards – Training Centre of Excellence accolade in 2005 and winning the Southern Hair and Beauty Awards – Training Centre of Excellence Award in 2018.
After all these years in industry Anita is still as passionate about her profession. She loves being busy – juggling a busy family life with working 2 days a week in the Salon as well as teaching and running the businesses. She also still loves teaching her weekly Fitness Pilates and Zumba classes
Samantha Shanks
Samantha Shanks has been a Beauty Therapist for 30 years and has worked at various Salons across Sussex, including being Salon Manager at Profiles, motivating the Team to win their various accolades. Sam also had a key teaching role at Sussex Downs College in Lewes for over 15 years. Sam is also ‘Hands-On’ in the Salon – Tamarind Treatment Rooms, continually updating her CPD ensuring she can impart /share her wealth of experience and knowledge with our students.
Samantha still has a passion for the Beauty Industry and is always listening to a beauty or anatomy podcast or constantly researching interesting facts while cooking and caring for the family!
Sussex Beauty Training school welcomes Samantha’s valuable teaching, Quality Assurance experience, and qualifications enabling us to provide Students with quality teaching and professional standards. Samantha teaches all the Beauty Therapy Courses.
Julienne Lazell
Julienne joined the Teaching team at SBTS 18 months ago. Julienne is a Massage Therapist and an Author, Illustrator and Artist. She is currently working on her fourth book and juggles her time with three motivated teenagers, a dog and an understanding husband!
Julienne runs her own Massage Business and inputs a huge amount of time and energy into producing amazing visual learning tools for our School, to ensure the Student learning journey is a fun and colourful one!
Julienne teaches our Body Massage and Anatomy and Physiology Courses.
